診斷標准：病人近期內有流行病學史和臨床表現，結合實驗室HIV抗體由陰性轉為陽性即可診斷，或僅實驗室檢查HIV抗體由陰性轉為陽性即可診斷。

80%左右HIV感染者感染後6周初篩試驗可檢出抗體，幾乎100%感染者12周後可檢出抗體，只有極少數患者在感染後3個月內或6個月後才檢出。
