英國《TIMES》正式推出了英國大學綜合排名，對124所高校以及62個專業進行了綜合比較。
英國大學排名的主要評比主要由以下五大指標評選結果得出：
1. 學生入學水平（Entry Standards）：學生入學水平這項指標指的是英國大學錄取本科學生的A-level分數線，分數線越高，證明該校本科的生源質量越好，反映了該學校在英國人心目中的分量。因此這項指標僅對英國本科生入學有一定的參考意義。
2. 學生滿意度（Student satisfaction）：學生滿意度這項指標的測算是通過向英國大學在校學生發放無記名問卷，然後經過回收與計分形式計算出來，由於各個學校的問卷回收率大不相同，因此這項指標僅供參考，那些滿意度低的學校並不代表真的不受學生的歡迎。
3. 科研評估（Research Assessment）：科研評估（RAE）這項指標全面反映英國大學在科學研究等領域的表現，是英國大學學校整體研究實力在某一領域的充分體現，這項指標是學生申請英國大學研究生時的重要參考依據之一。
4. 學生畢業率/就業率（Graate Prospects）：學生畢業率/就業率這項指標十分重要，一方面反映了英國大學課程的難易程度；另一方面體現出英國大學畢業生的整體素質以及是否受到用人單位青睞等信息。
5. 在校師生比例（Student Staff Ratio）：在校師生比例這項指標反映的英國大學的教師與學生比例，這個比例會根據學科的不同略有差距。學生進行相關專業選擇的時候，可以參考這項指標。
