本系列教材力求體現《教學指南》和最新《大學英語四/六級考試大綱》的原則和精神,在編寫宗旨、單元設計、材料選擇、課堂活動和課堂練習的設計上力圖忠實地詮釋《教學指南》和最新《大學英語四/六級考試大綱》的各項指標,開拓新時代大學英語教與學的新領域。
2. 體現現代信息技術與英語教學的整合運用
本系列教材建立在外語課程與計算機網路全面整合的基礎之上,充分利用現代信息技術,培養學生的英語綜合應用能力,尤其是聽說能力。
3. 體現課堂教學與測試的有機結合
本系列教材順應現行大學英語四、六級考試及四、六級機考改革的要求,在紙質課本練習和網路平台的練習設計上,覆蓋現行大學英語四、六級考試題型及四、六級機考題型,並緊密結合雅思、托福等國際化英語水平測試。
