美國的葯學專業和在我們中國所認識的葯學專業,是非常的不同的.在美國的本科,現在已經沒有葯學的專業了.都是在大學本科之後三到四年拿到一個學位.叫Pharm.D.(Doctor of Pharmacy),是一個a professional degrees，是在大學本科畢業之後再念3到4年。
葯學專業畢業後工作問題
一般到醫廠，制葯公司工作的話，還是需要Ph.D，以研究為主，制葯方面念pharmaceutical chemistry，pharmacology，生物類的念免疫系學，biochemistry,biophysics.UCSF的葯學畢業生,每年大約125個畢業生，只有2,3個畢業生到制葯公司，但是他們也不是去做葯物合成,他們做的比較像是,clinical pharmacy，葯廠的Pharm.D.做的通常是PK(pharmacokinetic)PD(pharmacodynamics)或clinical trial.都跟臨床有關，有些人在畢業後。還會念一些別的學位位。可以到FDA工作或者繼續在念Ph.D.或者是MBA.
要進學校的敎學的，通常都要PhD+Pharm.D，不一定要完全專注在研究方面，但是需要有學位，和research方面的經驗，尤其在academia方面。
畢業後的出路，大部分PharmD,都在葯局，主要負責配葯(distribution of drugs)和咨詢(clinicalconsulting)
在葯房工作,主要有2個工作:一個是葯劑師(pharmacist)，一個是葯劑師助pharmacy tech.
Pharmacy tech主要就是配葯，包裝，申請保險。葯房主要的工作是以葯劑師為主。
Pharm.D.畢業之後主要是去葯房,葯房有也有好幾種，像是一般葯房，如Walgreen,另外一種就是在醫院裡面。
葯師的工作:
發葯，發葯感覺上好像很簡單，其實不是的，因為現在有些年紀很大的人，吃很多種葯。這些各種不同的葯，從各個不同的醫生來的，這些不同的葯，又會有很大的交互作用，這些交互作用可能會造成致命的結果!所以建議，如果是年長者，到葯局去拿葯最好選擇都在同一個葯房拿葯，葯劑師可以看到完整的用葯資料，可以調整用葯或用方法，或者直接醫生建議，不要服用到不可以一起使用的葯。

簡單的說一下美國的醫學院，首先你要在本科的時候學醫學的基本課程，比如生物化學和物理，這些是最基本的條件，然後還有就是TOEFL和考醫學院必須的考試MCAT，這個考試是類似於科學和生物的考試，這些東西你都有了，還有就看你的GPA以及你寫的計劃書之類的東西來決定是否錄取你。對中國學生來，錄取美國的醫學院真的很難。所以你要很努力才有希望。

Three letters of recommendation
