1. 为什麼要写自传? (WHY)

先了解为什麼要写这篇自传。只是单纯的叙述自己? 还是申请工作、申请国外大学用的…?

2. 阅读的对象是谁？(AUDIENCE)

确定写这篇自传的原因之后，再确定谁会是我的读者：自己? 朋友? 家人? 老师? 学校? 老板? – 因为阅读的对象不同，自传的主题也会不同。

3. 阅读资料(READ)

决定了写自传的目的和阅读的对象之后，再来就是搜集一些类似的自传、阅 读一下，看看别人是怎麼写的。

在网路上你可以找到许多人的自传，例如歌星、影星、教授、政治人物…你 可以找出适合你要写的自传、参考运用这些类似自传的格式和内容。

4. 决定自传的主题 (DEVELOP YOUR THEME)

有了主题，你就可以知道你的人生片段，哪些需要多写、哪些要少写，哪些甚至不需要提起。

写自传并不是像写写历史小说一样列出一个时间表而已；你必须先决定你的自传主题，再依据这主题，写出驱使你人生不断成长进步最重要的事项和动力即可。

5. 组织自传的格式 (ORGANIZE YOUR AUTOBIOGRAPHY)

一般最常用的格式是依时间顺序纪事(chronological order)的自传；这种格式 的优点是找出一个适当的时间点切入至一个时间点而结束，比较直接了当， 也便於读者的阅读和记忆。

建议你可以先写一个OUTLINE (纲要)。

不需要从小写到大，可以跳过一些不重要的幼童经历。也不要一昧的照著纲 要写，纲要的目的只是协助你不要偏离你的主题。

6. 开始写了(START WRITING)

先不用太在意文法或修辞。只要先把你想要表达的意思很自然快速的写出来就可以了。

自传不要夸大、也不要过於谦卑，内容要不亢不卑，诚实有自信。

7. 编辑你的自传 (EDIT YOUR COMPLETED WORK)

写完之后开始检查。

有时候你会发现有很多内容要修改，当然也要开始检查文法和修辞了。如果你有老师或朋友可以给你一些意见或帮忙修改那就更好了。
