一、斯特拉斯克莱德大学早在十九世纪八十年代已经因其工程技术与管理类专业而盛名远播，该校开设多种本科以及硕士研究生课程可供学生选择，并且每个系均设有博士课程，其研究生院是英国规模最大的研究生院。

该校是全英最早开设Marketing专业的院校，也是唯一将Marketing作为一门独立学科用来研究的英国高等院校。其市场营销专业一直处于全英顶尖水平。

2008年 The Times Higher Ecation Ranking 与《金融时报》均将思克莱德商学院（SBS）列为全苏格兰第一，全球TOP30的顶尖商学院。

特别值得一提的是：该校的工程学院和商学院中的几乎所有专业在英国官方的评估中获得了满分（5星或5*星），其 IET Power Academy 在英国EEE的强电领域中处于TOP1水平。在政府已公布的4次就业率报告中，该校都是优秀。可以说，该校的学生就业情况是英国最好的之一。
