沈阳理工大学外国语学院始建于1979年,前身为沈阳工业学院外语教研室,外语部,外国语分院,2004年5月学校更名后正式命名为沈阳理工大学外国语学院。虽然学院的发展只有不足30年的历史,但是在学校党委的正确领导下,在学院历届领导班子的带领下,在全体教职员工的支持下,沈阳理工大学外国语学院锐意进取,开拓创新,取得了骄人的业绩。

外国语学院现有教职工98人,有教授2人,副教授17人,讲师47人,助教25人;具有硕士学位的35人,硕士在读34人。学院下设9个教研室和2个研究所,开设了英语专业和俄语专业,承担全校本科生、英语专业学生、俄语专业学生以及研究生的外语教学任务。
