美國大學生數學建模競賽（MCM/ICM），是唯一的國際性數學建模競賽，也是專世屬界范圍內最具影響力的數學建模競賽，為現今各類數學建模競賽之鼻祖。MCM/ICM 是 Mathematical Contest In Modeling 和 Interdisciplinary Contest In Modeling 的縮寫，即「數學建模競賽」和「交叉學科建模競賽」。MCM 始於 1985 年，ICM 始於 2000 年，由 COMAP（the Consortium for Mathematics and Its Application，美國數學及其應用聯合會）主辦，得到了 SIAM，NSA，INFORMS 等多個組織的贊助。MCM/ICM 著重強調研究問題、解決方案的原創性、團隊合作、交流以及結果的合理性。2015年，共有來自美國、中國、加拿大、芬蘭、英國、澳大利亞等19個國家和地區共9773支隊伍參加，其中包括來自哈佛大學、普林斯頓大學、麻省理工學院、清華大學、北京大學等國際知名高校學生參與此項賽事角逐。

不用，是自己可以組隊，但是要想得獎，可以拿國賽練練手，因為競爭很激烈，如果隊友和導師水平不夠的話，就只能去打醬油。

2015年國際大學生數學建模競賽（MCM/ICM）成績近日揭曉，東北大學學生在本次競賽中版榮獲74項大獎，包括19項國際一等獎（權Meritorious
Winner），55項國際二等獎（Honorable Mention），同級別獲獎數量在全國高校名列前茅。

競賽於2015年2月6日9時至2月10日9時（北京時間）舉行，東北大學共計177支參賽隊參賽。經過四天四夜96個小時的不懈努力，東北大學學生最終以19項國際一等獎、55項國際二等獎再創佳績。其中獲獎參賽隊員分別來自工商管理學院、理學院、資源與土木工程學院、材料與冶金學院、機械工程與自動化學院、信息科學與工程學院、軟體學院、中荷生物醫學與信息工程學院；一等獎獲獎參賽隊分別由陳大力、宋叔尼、潘峰、崔建江、王琪、賈同、楊連平、趙秋月、郝麗娜、張雲洲、王斐、覃文軍、孫濤、朱和貴、翟丁老師指導。
