J1國際交換生，中美交換生項目是非營利性政府項目，為年齡在15至18周歲之間的中學生而設。本項目可使中國中學生持訪問學者簽證（J-1）順利到達美國，居住在美國家庭里，並在美國中學就讀一學年。期間，中國學生不僅可以切身感受並適應美國的校園文化及社會生活的方方面面，培養獨立生活和社會交往的能力，而且由於與美國家庭共同生活，可以迅速提高英語水平，建立完全可以信賴的人脈關系，更具有價值的是，可以尋找並打通留學美國大學本科的渠道，進而通過雙方接觸，為一年後留學美國奠定堅實的基礎。
美國國際交換生可謂優勢眾多，把眼光放長遠上看來，參加交換生項目最佳的年齡段：15~16周歲，即現在的國內所處年級是初三、或者高一。主要根據以下幾點關於申請年級的分析：
第一種，學生初三畢業，申請一年的交換生，去美國公立高中學習就讀10年級。持有J-1簽證，注意該簽證不屬於一年多次往返的簽證類型，一般是當年的8月底赴美，次年的6月中旬回國。次年1月份根據學生在美國的適應情況，酌情決定是否繼續在美國讀書，完成高中學業。如果很喜歡美國的生活和學習方法，決定繼續在美國求學，則需要同時准備相關的語言考試，比如SLEP,TOE－FL，SSAT等，並且於次年2月1號之前完成私立高中的申請。准備的越早，以後的選擇就越多。如果不習慣還可以回國繼續從高一開始重讀高中。比較靈活。
第二種，學生高一畢業，申請一年交換，就讀美國公立高中11年級。這種情況需要對學生的整體要求很高，除了SLEP筆試和面試合格，還要求學生在校平均成績80分以上。根據11年級特殊的學習課程，和集中要求准備TOEFL考試和SAT考試，學生學習壓力比較大。一般說來如果出國前沒有比較高的SLEP成績比如說52分以上的話，建議不參加該類項目，可以直接參加F1私立留學項目。因為首先如果學生很適應在美國的學習和生活，決定繼續在美國完成高中課程，他就面臨著美國優秀的私立高中對於12年級的申請者要求很高，沒有比較出色的高中成績，和出眾的TOEFL，SAT成績，很少有私立高中願意冒險錄取您，這樣就很尷尬，只能將學校的申請目標降低處理，這樣就和以往的初衷相悖。如果學生自身條件不是很好，還需要去美國公立高中適應的話，就不建議去了，這樣對孩子的要求很高。如果因為申請不到學校而回國讀書的話，那麼依舊要重新讀高二。得不償失。
第三種，學生高二畢業，申請去美國交換讀12年級。這種方法優勢僅次於第二種方案。前提是學生在高二上完之後和學校協商可以順利在高三的時候拿到畢業證，這樣即使公立高中就讀一年不能獲得畢業證的情況下，也可以拿國內的成績和畢業證開始您的大學申請。這種比較適合上海地區的某些學生。記住這是前提，如果是北京地區這樣高三上學期上完才發畢業證的話，就不建議參加了，因為不確定因素很多。 那樣只能接受回國繼續就讀高三一年，拿到畢業證，然後申請美國大學。多讀一年。需要注意的是：美國公立高中很少破格為國際學生頒發畢業證，除非你去了TOP10，可以為該公立高中爭光！這點就得看你運氣了！同樣選擇這種方式出國的話，要求學生在高二上完之後即拿出比較不錯的TOEFL和SAT成績，因為大學的申請是在12年級上學期就開始了。
總體說來，國際交換生有很多好處，政府背景，費用便宜（相對於就讀私立高中），可以住寄宿家庭，比較全面的體驗美國生活（因為私立寄宿高中多是封閉式的）。但是建議大家在決定的時候看看自己是否適合！
建議：除了第一種之外的學生，如果您在資金上沒什麼問題的話，最好還是直接參加F1私立高中留學，可以避免不必要的麻煩！如果資金上稍微有點緊張、但是學生足夠優秀的話，還是可以選擇J1交換生體驗純美式教育！
特別需要注意的是：交換生的名額有限，採取先報名先通過先錄取的模式，額滿即止。想參加2011年春季交換生的學生現在就要開始報名和准備材料，因為過程比較復雜，還需通過筆試和面試，所以需要提前半年准備。如果要到美國讀大學，申請交換生是很不錯的選擇。國內很多條件都不如國外，比如課外實踐活動和實踐經驗等，這都是國外申請大學人家所看重的。如果提前到美國交換一年等到寫大學申請書時能寫的就多了。而且美國高中課程都很容易，可以順便把你的GPA帶一帶。至於是回國還是轉私立就看你個人選擇了。錢大概在3W左右，不包括生活費。如果有個好的接待家庭生活費不會貴的。如果以後有去美國留學的打算，申請美國交換生當然對你以後的留學生活或者規劃有幫助：體驗美國尖端教育，為升入世界名校做准備；開拓視國際野，培養自主能力；寄宿美國家庭，零距離感受美國本土文化；快速融入美國生活，建立國際人脈關系；全方位提升學生素質；良好的留學過渡或與國內教育銜接；結束交流回國，為將來留學保留一份良好記錄。申請途徑：主要是通過美國境內機構認可的公司進行申請。如果你是交換生，你沒有申請美國大學的可能， 原因是，J簽證 有回母國2年居住的要求，你必須回中國2 年後才能申請。 不管你是不是交換生，都要參加SAT考試的，這個相當於美國的高考，最好是SAT1和SAT2都要考，這樣申請常春藤更有優勢；不知道你是正在交換還是一件交換接住了，正在交換的話可以向所在學校的老師咨詢，如已交換結束，建議找個留學中介，畢竟他們有經驗，申請到好學校的可能性更大些；不過一定想要自己來申請的話，也可以，只不過材料准備比較繁瑣，像申請書、高中成績單、所獲獎勵和認證、是否有發表過學術論文、推薦信、推薦人等等；本人現在就是中美交換生. 建議如果你的英語很好的話, 你就可以直接去上私立學校. 不用參加中美交流生的項目, 如果你的英語不怎麼樣,或者一般的話. 還是參加下吧. 因為美國私立學校管得比公立學校嚴.教學質量比公立學校好,學費大概4000到10000美元不等. 應該不會對申請大學有幫助. 找中介比較好. 自己弄很麻煩. 准備你的口語...- -至於你是要回國上高中還是申請私立. 那是你自己的抉擇了. 你可以參加中美交換生讀10年級, J1的簽證, 然後一年完了, 讓中介幫你把J1換成F1的簽證,你就可以轉到美國私立學校去繼續上11,12年級,考大學了. 中美交換生的項目我覺得很貴,我們交給中介20多萬. 還有,中美交換生的寄宿家庭是志願的,不用每個月付錢, 如果是自費留學的就要付錢. 寄宿家庭的問題,. 如果是一般的,不怎麼富裕的, 一個月應該來說是要400-500美元. 如果家庭條件還不錯的,大概要700到1000美元一個月吧,..交換生可以申請去哪些國家呢，交換生費用怎麼算呢？大學的交流生能去哪個國家哪個學校都是看你們學校的姊妹學校是哪所，在哪個國家。這樣才有機會過去。一般交流生的申請都是在大2以後，只需要繳納你在國內的學校的費用。交換生的申請上，本人前幾天才上交的交換生申請，只要有自己的姓名、性別、系別、年級、出生年月日，聯系方式，還有就是你要到台灣的哪所大學以及什麼專業都要寫清楚就ok了，我的那份就這些內容，才100字左右，就想寫請假條一樣把相關內容交代清楚就行了，至於哪些官方客套話就別多此一舉了！

Of all the characters that I' ve " met" through books and movies, two stand out as people that I most want to emulate. They are influential people in small towns who have a direct positive effect on those around them. I have seen him spend his Christmas Eves taking gifts of food and joy to indigent families. Often when his bank could not justify a loan to someone in need, my grandfather made the loan from his own pocket. He is a real-life Moonlight Graham, a man who has shown me that characters like Dr. Graham and Mr. Finch do much much more than elicit tears and smiles from readers and movie watchers. Through him and others in my family I feel I have acquired the values and the burning desire to benefit others that will form the foundation for a great life. I also feel that that foundation is not enough. I do not yet have the sophistication, knowledge, and wisdom necessary to succeed as I want to in the alt world. I feel that Harvard, above all others, can guide me toward the life of greatness that will make me the Attacus Finch of my town.
