美國學校大部分都是春季和秋季入學兩個時間，也有一部分是專春季、夏季、屬秋季三個入學時間，極少數是春季、夏季、秋季、冬季四個時間段。
春季、夏季入學一般機會不多,並且很多學校都不給獎學金，因為已經被上年秋季的學生申請完了。春季、夏季與秋季學期結束畢業的時間也不同，但只要修夠學分就可以畢業了。不過也可以去上暑假課程，

宿舍的問題，freshmen一般都住east，當然，east並不是最好的，也有很多人住pollock，但宿舍都是大同小異的，有錢的話可以去住單身公寓。郊區的問題，這個地方的確是middle of nowhere，比較適合學習，去DC,NYC都是四個小時車程，再說了，平時功課很緊，你也沒工夫去那些地方的。既然這個地方叫做university park，生活就的確會比較單調，但是學校有很多party,不過因為我不是party animal,所以不太了解，再說美國21歲以下不許喝酒，被發現了後果比較嚴重。你說你去了美國不是很想太學術，這個問題我覺得完全是看個人的，每天不去上課也不會有人管你，但是最後GPA什麼的得自己擔著，所以如果你不想很學術完全不是問題，不過樓主也得聽我一句忠告，來這邊的人大多都很聰明，學校的學習難度也比較大（我是指general ecation方面），所以最好還是好好地，不然最後fail了被kick out就比較麻煩了，當然如果你是很牛的人，也就不用有太大的顧慮了。結識校友不難，因為學校在開學前有international orientation，有個10天的時間，那段時間幾乎沒事，是認識朋友的最佳時機。
