萊斯大學（綜排18）位於德州休回斯頓，一個相當活答躍、繁華的城市，而且距離最熱鬧的Downtown中心只要兩站輕軌路，距離繁華的Galleria非常近，不論是交通方便度，還有旁邊的美食等等都非常棒棒噠。
德州當前已經是美國經濟發展最快區域，而且德州的就業稱得上是全美最好的州了，萊斯大學出來不用多說也知道，天氣舒服到爆，跟廣東那邊氣候差不多。
學校規模的話，本科3000多人，研究生1000多，是除了Caltech之外TOP 20裡面人數最少的，所以學校不會擁擠，課堂師生之間很近，基本都是小班，傳統意義上的大課也都分為大班、小班，教學質量是完全不用擔心的，當然翹課什麼的也甭想了。
學費方面，萊斯大學絕對比其它同等層次的名校要便宜的多，比如康奈爾就從五萬二漲到六萬四了，而萊斯大學基本上學費以你出入學那年為准，和公立學校國際學生的學費差不多。
萊斯大學最牛的專業除了音樂，就是工程了，尤其是生物工程是最好的，除此之外化工、EE、CAAM等等也都相當好，基本上以工程學院出色就是萊斯大學的特色了。
