1、確定中心，寫出深意。我們要著於挖掘所寫事件中含有的生活哲理或找出它閃光的地方，反復思考，確定文章的中心思想。即善於從普通的小事中寫出深意來。

2、文章的六要素要交待清楚。一件事情的發生，離不開時間、地點、人物、事情的起因、經過和結果這六方面，即常說的「六要素」，只有交待清楚這幾方面，才能使讀者對所敘述的事，有個清楚、全面的了解。

3、言之有序，條理要清楚。根據所述時間選擇合理的順序來安排材料。一般敘事順敘、倒敘和插敘三種。

4、詳略得當，突出重點。一般事件的材料有主次之分，能體現文章中心的材料是主要材料，這部分要詳寫，次要內容可略寫或不寫，主次分明，給讀者以深刻的印象。
