美国学校大部分都是春季和秋季入学两个时间，也有一部分是专春季、夏季、属秋季三个入学时间，极少数是春季、夏季、秋季、冬季四个时间段。
春季、夏季入学一般机会不多,并且很多学校都不给奖学金，因为已经被上年秋季的学生申请完了。春季、夏季与秋季学期结束毕业的时间也不同，但只要修够学分就可以毕业了。不过也可以去上暑假课程，

宿舍的问题，freshmen一般都住east，当然，east并不是最好的，也有很多人住pollock，但宿舍都是大同小异的，有钱的话可以去住单身公寓。郊区的问题，这个地方的确是middle of nowhere，比较适合学习，去DC,NYC都是四个小时车程，再说了，平时功课很紧，你也没工夫去那些地方的。既然这个地方叫做university park，生活就的确会比较单调，但是学校有很多party,不过因为我不是party animal,所以不太了解，再说美国21岁以下不许喝酒，被发现了后果比较严重。你说你去了美国不是很想太学术，这个问题我觉得完全是看个人的，每天不去上课也不会有人管你，但是最后GPA什么的得自己担着，所以如果你不想很学术完全不是问题，不过楼主也得听我一句忠告，来这边的人大多都很聪明，学校的学习难度也比较大（我是指general ecation方面），所以最好还是好好地，不然最后fail了被kick out就比较麻烦了，当然如果你是很牛的人，也就不用有太大的顾虑了。结识校友不难，因为学校在开学前有international orientation，有个10天的时间，那段时间几乎没事，是认识朋友的最佳时机。
