德州当前已经是美国经济发展最快区域，而且德州的就业称得上是全美最好的州了，莱斯大学出来不用多说也知道，天气舒服到爆，跟广东那边气候差不多。
学校规模的话，本科3000多人，研究生1000多，是除了Caltech之外TOP 20里面人数最少的，所以学校不会拥挤，课堂师生之间很近，基本都是小班，传统意义上的大课也都分为大班、小班，教学质量是完全不用担心的，当然翘课什么的也甭想了。
